4-wheeling up Provo Canyon

I passed my test on Friday and I only have 1 more!!! For Cody's Grad I took the weekend off. We had a good weekend together and with Cody's family. We took a nice little ride trying to get to Cascade Springs, didn't make it, but we got stuck, got muddy and loved it. If you look close at the picture of Kyle coming up the hill you can tell he is airborne! We went to the track meet and watched some tough chicks on the pole vault and some hurdlers- Kyle fits right in! Back to work and school tomorrow- only a few weeks left!!!

Graduate!

Cody graduated from BYU on Friday! He now has a degree in Business Management from the Marriott school of Business!
I get his input on our blog posts quite often, but he hasn't ever written too much. He shared a portion of his journal with me last week (after a touching Sunday school lesson by Ian Jones), it was from right after he was accepted to BYU. It was really neat to read the week of his graduation.
"That was one of the most joyous days of my life, the day I received that admissions letter. I thanked God for it all and still do every time I think of how grateful I am to be at BYU."

Allison walked with the business school and kept Cody awake during the ceremony (thanks AL). He looked pretty cute in his cap and gown too :o) Here's proof!

Book Tag!

Thanks for the tagging Tara- I love your book!
Here are the rules:
1. Grab the book closest to you (has to be at least 123 pages)
2. Turn to page 123
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the sentence on your blog
5. Tag 5 people

So I am laying on my bed studying.. the closest book was really my journal but that's not going to happen! So next comes my scriptures, A Book of Mormon specifically, this is a good one:

Oh my brethren, hearken not unto my words; arouse the facilities of your souls; shake yourselves that ye may awake from the slumber of death; and loose yourselves from the pains of hell that ye may not become angels to the devil to be cast into that lake of fire and brimstone which is the second death.

Well if nothing else, you all read some scripture today :o)

I now tag Allison Kartchner, Amy Davidson, Julie Sacks, Emily Martino and Stacey Taylor!

Welcome Home Elder Kartchner!

This weekend we went to Snowflake to welcome home Kyle from his mission. It is great to have him home again and we are looking forward to him coming to Utah to go to BYU.

On Monday Dad took us shooting. We shot up some beer bottles, an old computer monitor and some other random stuff. It was great fun!
One of the beer bottles wasn't empty and somehow Buster ended up getting a little smashed. Look who I caught on camera with a beer in his hand...
We found a little lake in the middle of the desert! That is our dog in the background, we can't keep him out of the water. The boys would skip rocks and he would chase after them, never getting to them before they sank, but never giving up!

Cody and Chad flew into Phoenix just before Kyle did so they could meet him at the gate. They took a tour of the control tower before they left SLC then made friends with the pilot of their plane to take a pic in the cockpit. They had a good time flying and spent a few days together with just "the boys" before Allison and I came on Friday.

3 Monkeys!

Last weekend Cody and I watched Steph's kids while they went to WA. We got to do a lot of new things we have never done because we didn't really have a reason to go-! We went to the Hogle Zoo, went swimming at the Lehi Legacy center(which was great!) and Cody even took the boys to the dinasour museum and movie at Thansgiving point! It was a crazy good time :o)
