More B-day and some random pics

What can you do while feeding or holding a sleeping child? Not clean the bathroom that's for sure! So today I am filing & labeling pictures, Since Londyn was born I have taken over a thousand pictures! The external hard drive was a good investment! I found some pics in the process todat that I thought I would post. My good friend Rosie took these pics and I wanted to keep them with my b-day pics.
This is us at the rodeo- Rosie was sitting so far away her camera us pretty good. We are on the front row. The guy next to Cody was hilar!

Begining of June- b4 surgery.
Cute pics of the cousins- Both smiling!
And now..holding hands! They can only do one thing at a time. Thanks Chad for capturing the cuteness- We need to get them together again!

And a daddy/daughter nap.. I missed the one on Father's day so this is a make-up. Seems to be a lot more of these going on lately....
Could you sleep like this? poor girl. Such a good sport!
K So a year ago Sunday we ran the Seattle Rock n' Roll marathon with my good friend Kristin! I ordered these pics so I didn't have them last yr. I dont think she ever saw them..Well here they are :o)
Cant believe 1 yr ago I ran 26.2!!!

While I was looking at last June I found these grad pics. Bitter/Sweet- I miss my friends from school so much! Especially that cute girl on the laft- Tara! It has been great not to go to school and to actually get paid to work!
My how time flies! I get emotional looking at these pictures- not sure why but I am sure it has to do with all the love/support and the hard work, or maybe my post-partum hormones :o)

26

I turned 26 today...

Last year I turned 25 and all the sudden I fell apart-
I ran a marathon and damaged every joint in my body
Then I was rear ended on I-15 and hit the car in front of me.. (ouch)!
Then I rolled a 4-wheeler, then I rolled a 4-wheeler again... (same hill..don't ask)!
Tripped over a snowmobile ski, cut my leg floating the river, and many more scars/bruises.
Finally, I got pregnant, had precclampsia, had a baby, then had high blood pressure for weeks...

I am really glad I made it to this day alive!

To celebrate me being alive Cody planned a fun day. He made a yummy breakfast of french toast and raspberries (my fav). Then we went to the Lehi parade and boutique. We were so hot after that we went and got a cool pool for our backyard and took a dip! Went to tucanos for a nice dinner and we topped that off with cake and ice cream!!
The CV 2nd ward 1st place float- The purple cow!
Londyn's first petting zoo- Cool goats!
Cody and his Dad enjoying the food.
The starter pool (it can only get better from here right)!!  Man it was COLD!! Even Buster thought so!! It was perfect and made for a great afternoon!
Thanks Cody for a great birthday!!

1ST FATHERS DAY.. YAY!!

So honestly I have always used Fathers Day as an excuse to spoil Cody (He's fun to buy for- like a little kid on Christmas but less bratty than some kids). But there is really nothing like having your own little princess flash her smile your way. Cody is a sucker for Londyn. But he is a great Dad. He takes good care of her. I think some Dads would be lost without the Mama but not Cody. He is great to know what she needs and do it, and we don't have a "normal" needing baby-
She loves her Daddy

Londyn's shirt says "I'll always be Daddy's girl"
Such a cute little thing. She ripped off her Logan's Bow and wiggled out of her arm restraint.. The next Houdini!
And a yummy breakfast and dinner. That's how you really show a Dad you love him- You make him some good food!!

Happy Father's Day Cody!

Strawberry Shortcake..well Strawberry Lake no Cake

We went to Strawberry Lake to check it out this weekend. We took Cody's Dad along for the ride. Oh and Buster came too. It was green and pretty (for Utah) and we even got some free fresh fudge!

Every Dog has it's day.. Happy Dog. The second pic has a pelican if you look close.
Happy Cody too.. And Grandpa K with Londyn sporting some shades like Grandpa!
This was my "out" for the week. You can only stay home so long, and for me so long is a day or 2!
Quad Buster. I lifted weights twice and was sooo sore last week. So what do we do- Go on a bike ride to get the mail. Up the steepest hill in all of Utah. At least it was pretty right? This is the greenest I have ever seen the state of Utah. Good time to get out and enjoy it.

Variety in Londyns Diet

I was thinking the other day how experienced Londyn is in the liquid/taste dept. I never wanted to drug my kids and I have always planned to be cautious not to use my knowledge of drugs to sedate my children... too much.. :o) j/k
Londyn is a different story tho. She requires meds all throughout the day. I complied a list of everything Londyn has tasted since birth. Compared to the "normal" strictly formula or breastmilk diet she is quite advanced in her diet.

Breastmilk
Formula
Soy-Formula
Pedialyte

Tylenol
Tylenol w/Atropine
Tylenol w/Codeine
Gas Drops
Maalox
Zantac
Prevacid
Water
Keflex

And her favorite taste of all: Apple Juice*

14 Total

*Don't try this at home. Juice isn't recommended for most infants. Londyn was given it by doctors recommendation due to some severe tummy troubles. Give your babies milk exclusively until 4-6 mo. old unless directed by your doctor or pharmacist. :o)

Track my Growth: 2 mo.

Londyn's 2 mo. check-up (a little late- 2 mo and 12 days old)
Weight: 10.67lbs. 31 %tile
Height: 23 in 60 %tile
Head Circumference: 15.75in  70%

Everyday her lip and nose get better and better. Her new smile is just as beautiful as her last. She has worn PJ's for the last week but we found some cute ones to go out to the doctor on Monday. They are my favorite with ruffles on her butt. They gave her 3 shots and she didn't like 'em! Poor Londyn. I promised her no more pokes this month..
Logan's bow & tape
Nasal Stents
Arm restraints
 and now 3 bandaids...
But isn't she dang cute?

The Saddest Post Ever!

Warning: this post might make you cry!  Londyn is such an amazing little girl. She is so beautiful I don't have words so I will just share some of the last pictures I took before her surgery. I was camera happy and I literally have over a thousand pictures of her. We were both having trouble letting go. Seriously, look at this little doll.
Daddy/Daughter smiles!
The morning of the surgery... so happy.
K so this is weird but Londyn always would push her lips out and stretch and it melted my heart, so you might think this is a funny pic but I HAD to have one before the surgery...
Here we go.. We are so thankful to have had Primary Childrens Hospital and their amazing doctors/surgeons so close. We had a good experience there with their staff/doctors.
They took us into a room to get Londyn changed into her hospital robes. They were huge. She couldn't eat and got a little upset but after they gave her some tylenol/atropine she calmed down and went to sleep. Cody and I both got to rock her and hold her close. The anesthesiologist came to get us and we got to walk part way then they took her away. It was brutal to say goodbye.
Over 2 hours later we were called to meet Londyn in recovery. She was upset so they had given her more drugs and she was out of it. We were relieved to have her back. The surgeon came and talked to us after and said it went well. Londyn soon woke up but wasn't too happy with what they had done to her.
The metal piece protects her mouth and nose from being hit and is called a Logan's Bow. She will wear this for 4 weeks. She has stents in her nose to keep the nostrils open but they get plugged and make it hard to breathe. Her nose/lips were so swollen and looked so painful. She was a trooper and ate right away. She gets less air and has better suction so she had to get used to it. Her arms have to be held or in restraints. SO SAD!
So for that day and the whole night we held her hands and stayed by her side.

We tried to spoil her all we could. Notice the cute bear- Thanks Costco Rx people!
She was tough, but totally miserable!
They took good care of her at the hospital. It was good to have her home but we were a little worried. It takes 2 people to keep her happy/restrained/cleaned/drugged. We have been busy but already we have had lots of help. Thanks to our 2 GREAT mothers for all their hours of help/care. And for the sweet people who text to check on us and our neighbors that brought us meals. We are so thankful!
Londyn- 2 days later. She looks sooo much better already! The swelling has gone down and her lip and nose look absolutely amazing!! She smiles again and we like that- like she forgives us for doing all this. :o)
Everyday she heals it will get better and better. I am glad this week is over. It is amazing how much our love has grown for this little girl. I am sure it won't stop here.

Zions National Park

We took a short trip to St. George with Cody's parents to go hiking in Zions. We took Londyn in a hiking pack and she gave Daddys shoulders a workout. We found some beautiful mountains and deep valleys. Some of the ledges were so steep there were chains to hold onto. Londyn was a trooper and liked her little seat. We want to go back and do more hiking this summer. Zions was closed but Cody and I are dying to do it if anyone is interested (we will leave Londyn home for that trip).
The first hike we went on was Emerald Pools. We saw the lower then went to the upper. The cliffs were amazing and the waterfalls would blow over the trails and get us- We were glad they did! It was SO HOT! Don't worry the baby was covered!
Upper Pools- Cool waterfall changed into a mist...
It's funny, I used to say I hated Utah. I think it is growing on me more and more. The more I get out and see all this amazing stuff, the more I love it here.
Some beautiful sites. So fun to be out and enjoy God's creations.
I read this quote from President Uchtdorf and thought of the amazing mountains and valleys we saw in Zions.  "Often the deep valleys of our present will be understood only by looking back on them from the mountains of our future experience." It is amazing how much perspective you get looking out over a valley-
Our second hike lead us through a slot canyon to an arch..sounds pretty cool huh. Wait til you see the arch!!We made a friend...
A really good friend. He was so cute eating our crackers.
Mountain Men...
Slot Canyons. The pic on the right was awesome, one wall covered in green and the other dead and red. Cool Contrast!!
Kathy holding up the arch. We were tough "Mountain Women" and didn't quit 'til we made it to the arch.
We made it back to the shuttle bus. Londyn was stretching her legs out and trying to stand up. I couldn 't get enough of her cuteness.

Fun times! Fun to have little family vacations with our little one. We are glad we went before this week. :o)
