We have been so busy lately! I just logged in an saw this is my 101st post! I love blogging and love reading all my friends blogs! It is a great family journal and a great way to keep in touch with those far and near to us. I don't want to bore any of you by not keeping our blog up to date so I will just fill you in a little bit.
Cody started his new job this week and had his first day in the office today. He really likes it, likes the idea of working and sitting in the office in the A/C all day. He went out to lunch today with one of the guys and got lots of new stuff. He has a cubicle and a phone he is proud of. He has been nice looking lately and I can tell he likes looking sharp. He will travel but only during the week some weeks and I will be working most of those times so hopefully we will have some weekends together! Our insurance started today and starting this week I only will work 1 day at Costco per week after doing rotations.
My last rotation ended last friday, it was an Infectious Disease rotation at a specialty hospital in Orem. I learned clean room procedure(getting all gowned up,etc) to make IV's, track antibiotics, fill the pyxis (the machine with all the drugs in it that the nurses can access), find economical treatments for bacterial infections and make sure the bug is sensitive to the drug and suggest dosing to the MD. I dosed the Vancomycin for all the patients and got pretty good at it by the end. The people were so nice! Here is a pic of MaryAnn and Suzanne and I wearing surgical gowns- Thanks again you guys!

My current rotation (#3 of 7) is at Utah Valley Regional, in the ICU. So far so good, except my first day there was a Code that didn't turn out so well- I got to look at a brochoscopy and it was awesome and I didn't even pass out!! The pharmacist is pretty intense and I have already learned so much. I have reading assignments, journal clubs, and patient case presentations- so much for being done with schoolwork!! I also have to be there at 7am- which has been rough this week especially! Plus they make me park across the street behind the gas station- like a mile away, so I J-walk everyday and hope you don't see me in a tragic accident on the news! I am considering doing a residency after I graduate, but would love to work for Costco too.. decisions..decisions..Either way I have a big debt to pay off so I will have to do something!
Update on the dog- Buster is doing good and loves our runs. He gets to run in a 5K with us next month! He picks up trash throughout the neighborhood and carries it home with us. Good dog! He is growing out of his puppy stage so you can all come visit him!
I am dragging out the last 100 pages of Breaking Dawn- I don't want it to end! Even though it seems everyone wants to ruin it for me :o) I really like her books and I am excited for the movie to come out!
Our ward split and we got released from our calling over the YSA- Cody is now an EQ secretary which is a GREAT calling for him (not in nursery or primary) and I am now the Laurels Advisor, and I love the girls, it is the best calling I will ever have from what I have heard. We are both really excited although we do miss our former ward members!
So we will have some free weekends if anyone wants to play or plan a trip :o) We have lots to do before summer ends and can't wait for BYU football to begin!
