2 Dozen!

So I had another birthday which I am actually not too happy about..Really who wants to get older? But we played and had a good weekend so hopefully it will help me stay young. My whole family went to the cabin this weekend in Island Park, ID. We have been going every summer my whole life and it was great to go back.
My parents threw me a party when we got there late Thursday night. My dad decided my cake needed to have sparklers on it- If you know my Dad you understand :o) Always pulling pranks. Anyways, we are lucky my sisters house is still standing! And with the help of my nephews and niece all the candles were safely extinguished!

Friday we went 4-wheeling and visited Montana for a bit- We rode up sautel and two-top (2 of the mtns across from each other). On the way to Two-top we found some snow and had so much fun in it! Here's Kyle Cody And Me (I tried to stay dry!)
Such a pretty view- This is MT, from here you can see West Yellowstone. Cody and Kyle looking cute!
Sautel is the mtn in the background with the big ball on top.

Then Fri night my fam wanted to go on a ride, so we went up to Sautel.

Saturday we went Jet skiing. We got so burned! Buster loves riding 4-wheelers and Jet Skis! It was a perfect day- not windy at all and the water was smooth as glass at times.

We even went swimming! Buster spent the whole day fetching noodles, balls, and anything else he could find! It was a great weekend! Maybe 24 won't be so bad!

181 miles= Lots of pics

Runners High

25 hours 24 minutes- That is how long it took our team of 12 people to run the Wasatch Back Relay from Logan to Park City, UT ~approximately 180 miles! A team from our ward was short a couple and somehow Cody and I got to take their places! We started Friday at 12:40pm, we each ran 3 legs, switching between 2 vans full of runners. We met some awesome runners and they are a great inspiration to us!

I ran last night at 5:30pm (it was almost 90 degrees!) from Liberty to Eden, at 12:30 am around East Canyon Reservoir (this one had a tough hill but it was fun to run at night) and this morning from Heber to Midway. It was sad to run alone- I missed Cody and Buster! My legs were only 4 mi each but that last one seemed so long!

Cody ran just after me. He got lucky and got to run the hill from Midway to Park City before the leg they call the Ragnar (Charles, a fellow teammate got that one). Both their legs increased 1,500 ft in 3-4 miles! It was hot, dusty and a painful experience to even watch. Cody did amazing and while others were walking Cody ran most of the way.
After running our 1st leg

Our Team name was Sexybacks-from Justin Timberlake's song "Bringing Sexy back" We got team shirts made that said "Party in the Front" "Sexy in the Back."
One of the couples went all out and she wore these shorts with a fake butt on the outside and an apron with a nice hawaiian body on the front. Her husband ran in his whitey tighties and a cape! This is the exchange before Cody's hill- Jen is the one with the Butt shorts- she was probably the fastest runner running 1
mile at 5:31- but what you would never know is that she is 4 1/2 months pregnant! At the exchanges we would pass a slap bracelet you can see in this picture.
After sleeping very little and eating sporatic throughout the night we were so excited to be done! After we finished! YAY it's over! We all ran across the finish line together. Team pics to come...

Belated Fathers Day

This week both our dads came into town and we were able to celebrate Fathers day with them. We have the best dads in the world and it was so fun to be able to spend some time with them. This is us at Maggie Moo's- our favorite ice cream place! We missed our Moms who were both home working! Cody will be a good Dad one day becuase he has such great examples! Thanks to you both- WE LOVE YOU!

Hatch Ranch Fun

We spent the last weekend 4-wheeling at our friend Jarom Hatch's cabin in Mancos, CO. This is our 3rd trip and has become a tradition since the first time we went after dating for only 2 months. Luckily this time there were some girls for me to hang out with and we watched chick flicks instead of Strange Brew and Dumb and Dumber! We got all our wheelers together and attempted to get to the top of the mountains- but the snow made that hard and quite fun at the same time.
We meet at Walmart in Cortez every year and this time Jarom was a tad bit late :o) So we got all the food and played around a bit- Cody said he would give me $100 if I could get Buster in the shopping cart- he didn't think I could do it!?! Here's proof that dog will do anything for me!

Buster took a few rides on the 4-wheelers, spent half his time swimming in the pond, tried to be "Hank- the Cow Dog" and made friends with Jarom's cousins little girl who was at the cabin with us.

Pretty Aspens! You can see the mountains are still covered in snow! I liked this little stream too- there is a lot of water up there!
Kyle and I found some mud- we all got so dirty!!! I also liked this trip becuase I got my own 4-wheeler and didn't have to ride on the back!

Boys will be boys! Can you guess whose idea this was?

This is our tree we come visit every year- Cody carved this over 4 years ago! It has always been special to me! He is amazing!

Put-in-Bay, Cedar Point and Justin and Julie (and Cohen)

So we made a little detour on our way home and went to see our good friends, the Sacks! We went to Cedar Point, one of the greatest roller coaster parks ever! Then to Put-in-Bay, a little island off the shore of Ohio in Lake Erie.

This roller coaster accerates to 120 mph in 4 seconds, goes up 420 feet and the ride only lasts 18 seconds.

And of course we had ice cream!
Thanks Justin and Julie- We love you guys!

Farewell to Old Nauvoo

So I am pretty much going to sum it all up here. We spent more time touring the flats but this time we took a wagon ride to inspiration point. It was pretty cold and windy, most days were overcast but not too hot or humid.
We went to the Lands and Records office and it turns out we passed some of my ancestors property while on the wagon ride. Then we went to the Seventy's Hall and I found my ancestor was one of the Seventy's back in the day. They had a big chapel there so we took a picture.

Saturday we went to another play put on by the performing missionaries. They are really good. We found Kyle a wife too, so that was fun.

This is our whole tour group- It was a fun bunch of people. They were mostly older but nice people.

Cody and I in front of the temple- What a beautiful temple that represents so much to our church and our heritage.

Being in Nauvoo you feel such a strong witness of the gospel all around you. The Spirit of Joseph resides in that place and it is holy ground. President Hinckley instructed everyone to walk down Parley street and the "Trail of Hope." We had the opportunity to go there a few times and look back at the temple. I can't imagine all the suffering and sacrifice, but I know it had to be so hard! I am thankful for such amazing people that sacrificed so much, for the prophet Joseph Smith, and for such an amazing church that we belong to.
