Rainy Day Fun @ Portland Childrens Museum

Playing in the water. The duck races were a hit.

Rachel, Ruby and Adam are great company. We loved spending the morning with them.

Impossible to get them to look but they are great friends and have a fun time together. Love to hear them talk about each other.

Water. Everywhere.

Blurry but you get the idea.

Light table. This is the only pic of Londyn looking.

Rice box!

Magnets made from pop caps. genius!

Oh the slide. How Londyn loves you.I was impressed she could climb up so well.

Fun to see what interests these girls. Ruby went off into every activity- the store, the pet hospital, the construction area and the baby area while Londyn went around and around on the slide.

I'm a Big Girl Now!

After almost a week of confirmation I can say...
 Londyn is potty trained!
I dared not speak too soon but this week Londyn has been to daycare in her big girl panties, slept nights in them and gone whole days without accidents.

Londyn has been using the potty for the last year. I noticed signs lately indicating she might be ready- she would wake up dry in the am, then go sit on the potty. She would go hours during the day staying dry. She would know when she was going potty hide, etc. I have read/heard horror stories so I was ready to accept the fact that it might not work but I would give it my best shot.

So I read and read online. I found great resources and decided the best way for Londyn was a Potty Boot Camp. I had 4 days off in a row. Cody was studying for finals so it was perfect. I made the preparations, we had stickers & charts, lots of juice/drinks/salty snacks (to make her drink & practice more), a potty dance, a potty baby (thanks Steve & Tasha), a potty watch, big girl panties (princess panties), a long shirt (she went without pants most of the weekend), another potty seat for downstairs, activities we could do in the kitchen/outside-just in case, carpet cleaner, a stool to wash hands, M&M's for every time she went and family on call so Londyn could call and share her news.
**Next time I would get puppy pads for nap time. I decided not to do pull ups at nap time or nighttime.

I didn't take any pics or do much else for 3 days. We got take out. We ate junk food. We got McDonald's. It was pretty great. but in the end, we came out alive.

She was very successful. She had a limited number of accidents. But it is important that they happened so she understood why she needed to use the potty. A key change I made was instead of asking if she needed to go potty telling her "It's time to go potty." But this week she has been better and will tell us if she needs to go or answer if we ask.

Londyn LOVES Buzz and his gang. We used him to bribe her to use the potty.

The baby helped too. As instructed, the baby had several accidents and was rushed to the potty several times where she was told "go potty in potty not on floor." Londyn would not want to go potty but when I told her the baby needed to go she would run in there and go. It helped a lot!

Another Buzz chart. Pure Magic!

So Proud! 24 mo old and Potty trained! NO MORE DIAPERS! Perfect timing too, just ran out of a box and get to return a whole box to Costco! Yay Londyn!!
Thanks to her Grandparents for being such great supporters. She loved to call and tell them how big she was. My favorite is when she tells Cody she went potty- she squats down to say it. Had to get a video- don't mind the bare bum... Cody was a great supporter and did the potty dance with us.

Can't pass up posting this. Cody tried to teach her to pee outside on our hike. Nature Calls!

BooBoo

L loves storytime. Suddenly books captivate her. It is amazing to hear her tell the stories. We love the Gossie & friends books from Aunt Allison. BooBoo is by far our fav. Who doesn't love a blue gosling who likes to eat, almost anything? Read it with us...

Shellburg Falls

The fam ventured out again this last week to hunt for another waterfall. Cody’s finals start Tuesday and he has been studying like crazy. Londyn and I enrolled in potty training boot camp- well, my own version of it. More to come on that subject. I will keep this post clean and bathroom talk free. I have enjoyed photography in Oregon. Everything is so green and pretty it looks great in photos.
The hike to Shellburg falls is in a town called Lyons, 25 miles East of Salem. We were blessed with a sunny day, which was great except Cody was late getting home from the library so our hike began about 6:15pm. Good thing it was short. We made it to the lower falls in 30 minutes or so. Londyn loved picking up rocks, passing cattle and all the water along the way. She was a trooper. We needed a good family night before the next 2 weeks.  Good luck Babe! We love you and know you will do great!
Read for an adventure! Why do hikes in OR always start on gravel roads?

What a sight!

Bonus- up close and personal with the cattle. Londyn said "hi cow" "bye cow" a million times.

Cody loved all the moss and told Londyn the trees had hair.

Trooper Londyn. Training her early to be a hiker.

The falls were so big I couldn't get them all in 1 pic.

Moss everywhere! Cody got a break from packing L and took the camera.

Upper Shellburg Falls
The lower falls. I risked my life for this pic. Enjoy.

March Like Mama

I have some leftover March pics with all the Easter and Birthday fun I don't want to forget.

Londyn begged me for days to go swimming again with Kaitlyn. Everyone was busy one night except the three of us girls so we made a night of it. They were in heaven. We checked out a new pool with a 3 for 1 special. The girls had a ball. Kaitlyn wore a life jacket and was a great little swimmer. No pics in the deep end- I had my hands full, but the girls loved the kiddie pool.

Cody loves this pic. Big Buzz and little Buzz were both strategically placed and told to take naps!

On the way to school one day Londyn thought snuffy needed a chair. He sat in her cup holder. She was so happy about it. Now this is where he rides. Reminds me of a side car on a motorcycle.

The next two pics remind me of myself as a child. To illustrate, I will give you a side by side view. See what you think...

Londyn loves to line up her dolls, ducks, animals and toys. I did the same thing as a kid with my little brother in the mix.

And of course, Londyn loved the little Escalade she found at Toys R Us. It is a pretty nice ride. Too bad mine didn't come in pink!

Easter Sunday

 I LOVE Easter.
I love the reason we celebrate Easter,
The Resurrection and the Life of Jesus Christ
the food,
 the fun egg hunts,
church talks/lessons and
dressing my little doll up.

Ham, Cheesy potatoes and orange rolls- Yum. We shared itwith the Missionaries and 2 families in our ward.

Easter morning we had a fun egg hunt and helped Londyn find her Easter basket. She had all sorts of goodies from Grandparents and the Easter Bunny.

I learned that Primary is very fun on Easter. It is such a great thing to teach little children that Christ Lives again.

And finally, I played with dolls well into my teenage years. I think that part of me comes out as I dress Londyn up. She is too dang cute!

Spring is here!
She loves to twirl in her pretty dresses. This one had a little pouf to it and she loved it.

Wishing the E bunny brought her a pet.

Coloring Eggs. Saw a tip on Pinterest to use a whisk for toddlers- worked great!

Londyn loved the colors and watching the eggs. She broke a few out of excitement.

We are going to have to work on her egg hunting. She wouldn't do very well in a competition eating the candy before the end.

Happy Easter!
Hope you all enjoyed good food, an egg hunt, feeling the love of our Savior and a little dress up.
Hidden basket. Thanks to the Grandparents for the goodies.

She did what kids do best- ate lots of candy!

Twinkle Twinkle

Londyn amazes us with how much she is learning right now. The other day I overheard her singing while playing on my ipad. I had to get it on camera- so freaking cute!!!

Had to show Daddy...

Londyn's 2nd Birthday Party in London

Londyn turned 2 on April 2. I can't believe how fast it came. She was excited to have a party with her friends. She talks about them all nonstop and adores them. We are so grateful to everyone who came to help us celebrate.

Londyn and her little friends, Kaitlyn, Ruby and Raeghan. Can't all smile at once that would be too easy.

The Royal Family
The b-day cake video
A small bounce-house- found a deal. Londyn loved it!

Parents who came and stayed. Kid parties are a little crazy ;)~ Glad our friends have kids close to Londyn's age, we had fun too.

The girls got necklaces and crowns.

Londyn loved her birthday. She has been to her friends parties and was excited it was her turn. She talked all day about having her friends come over.

Ruby wasn't into jumping but loved to drive the car.

We served Fish and Chips, my Dad's secret recipe Halibut- AMAZING!

My Union Jack attempt.

Present time.

Cupcakes.

Londyn got great gifts from friends, Hi Ho Cherry O, Cinderella and a target gift card!

Even Ruby came to help. Cody gave Londyn a Tonka Truck and a Mat to drive around on.

Londyn loves babies. I got her a Madame Alexander baby doll. It is such a pretty doll. Thanks to a recommendation. She has a soft body and is perfect.

Can't have a toddler b-day without balloons. It was a great party.
