We made it to Oregon

You will have to excuse my blogging absence. This has been a whirlwind of a month! August 1st brought the start of a new life for us. We arrived at the Marriott Residence Inn and parked all our stuff for 3 weeks. I started working full time at Target. Cody started a Summer Pre-Law program. Londyn got to start preschool @ 16 mo!

We absolutely LOVE Oregon! Being back in the Pacific Northwest has been great for me- reminds me so much of my childhood in WA. I love the climate here in Salem especially as it is a little dryer and the sun has been out all month.

We have spent a lot of time working and studying, but we had to get out of our cramped room a little. Here are some random pics of our adventures while we were homeless.

The Hotel
Temporary housing. We were thankful to have a hotel for our transition and not have to bombard our families :) Although the food probably would have been better. They serve dinner 3 nights/wk and breakfast daily!

Picking Blackberries! We went on a run one night (okay more than 1x) and ate so many blackberries we got sick! Londyn LOVED them and would pick them herself when we weren't getting them fast enuf!

One of the perks of our home away from home. We even invited friends over to swim in our pool one night. Gotta take advantage while you can I guess.

Londyn and I swam a few times without Cody so he could have some peace and quiet. She really knows how to kick and with this floatation device of a swim suit she can swim all by herself.

This is a funny pic. I took Londyn to see Winnie the Pooh on night (so Cody could study- 1 bdrm=not big enuf). I had to bribe her with M&Ms to stay in her seat. It worked for about half the movie but luckily we were the only ones in the theater. Now she loves Pooh!

Sunday Dress. Thanks to Allison for the cute dress. We did get to go to our new ward and we LOVE it! We have already made some great friends and they were nice and fed us on a few Sundays when we had nothing to eat. We had a kitchenette- but Cody made Mac & Cheese one day and it took 45 min to cook the noodles, so we ate out mostly.

New Obsession with belts. Random pics- so funny how she knows it goes around you somehow.
 The Oregon Coast

We had to explore the coast!

Londyn was asleep so we drove down the coast to Newport. Buster enjoyed the ride in the truck!

Good looking truck!

The coastline is BEAUTIFUL! We were in heaven!

Cody kept saying it reminded him of Hawaii!

We found a beach and went to play. It was windy and chili but the sun came out and we had a blast.

Buster meets the ocean!

Good dog- he didn't even rip that ball out of her hands! Love how they are looking at each other!

Our Pride and Joy!

Londyn has been spoiled by going to the beach up and down the west coast this summer! She loves the sand and the waves! And she always comes back wet!

This was Busters 1 and only trip! He had a good break from the dog kennel place where he stayed for 5 wks!

Fam pic (-Buster)

It was so fun to run into the waves with buster! He would chase his ball out there and a few times he couldn't get it out of the waves. He kept drinking the salt water too! Funny Dog!

Look of Pure Joy!

Our brave little one venturing out on her own!

She was scared the first time My Mom and I took her to the beach. Now she has no fear!

Silver Falls
We ran into a photographer on our hike to the falls, we didn't expect to take a family pic but wouldn't deny the opportunity.

Wish we could run into photographers at all the places we go in Oregon. Thanks Dude! Even Londyn is looking!

Londyn loves it here in Oregon. This particular day she learned to say the word "Tree"

She has now mastered "water" too.

She loves it!

Another love- throwing rocks!

We went to check out the second of nine waterfalls. We will have to go back. It made for a great Sunday drive/walk.

Have you ever seen something so beautiful?

Look close, Cody and Londyn are on the path in this pic and the one below!

You can tell how huge it is!

Londyn loves to hike and play!

Come visit us and we will take you back. Come when it rains- can't wait to see it full!
Salem is a perfect 1 hour from the beach and 1 hour to the mountains. Silver Falls is only 30 minutes away and has 2 huge waterfalls (>170 ft.) on a trail called Trail of Ten Falls!
